The WWE returned to the Compaq Center Sunday with Bad Blood. It was hard to say what match everyone arrived to see because there were several big events during the night. The biggest match could have been Hell in the Cell with special guest referee Mick Foley, or the legend versus legend match featuring Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. But letis face it, in the state of Texas, Stone Cold Steve Austin is all the justification any wrestling fan, old school or bandwagon, would ever need to turn out or tune in. Stacy Keibleris managerial services were the stipulation in the Test and Big Poppa Pump match, in which Poppa Pump was victorious. Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Kane, The Necrophiliac faced La Resistance. A misplaced top rope kick from Rob Van Dam to Kane caused the loss of their belts. Booker T faced Christian for the Intercontinental Championship belt and won by disqualification after Christian turned the belt against the five time WCW Champion. Being out of the wrestling world ever since Smackdown and Raw became two separate story lines, I went to Bad Blood to witness one thing, Bill Goldberg fighting in the WWF (Iim old school). The match was Goldberg versus Jericho, with Goldberg coming out the victor. Next, The Nature Boy, Ric Flair, faced Shawn Michaels. Michaels originally challenged Flair to the legend versus legend match to see exactly that who is the biggest legend. But his efforts turned hostile when Flair revealed his dirty side, calling Michaels a wannabe. They fought reversing figure four leg locks back and forth before Michaels landed his trademark elbow twice before connecting his super kick to Flair‘s chin. One, two, three, another victory for the Heartbreak Kid. The main event, Hell in a Cell, marked the return of Mick Foley to the ring as referee of the match featuring Triple H and Kevin Nash. Triple H, who threw Foley through the top of the cell in a previous match, tangled with throughout the event, but Foley put his famous "Mr. Socko" on Triple H. Chair shots and barbed wired busted heads open before Triple H finally pinned Nash. Throughout Bad Blood, Stone Cold and Eric Bischoff competed in a Texas Redneck Triathlon that included a burping contest, a pig pen and a pie eating contest (it wasnit apple pie either.) It was a Poontang pie-eating contest that involved the mummy known as Mae Young. Bischoff was unwillingly bronco busted by Young in a thong, winning him the event after Stone Cold forfeited by giving Young the Stone Cold Stunner. This event is not going to make me loyal to the WWE, but it was good to witness matches like the Shawn Michaels versus Flair. One complaint was not seeing show stoppers such as Hogan, The Rock, Kurt Angle and even Vince McMahon participate at the pay per view. WWEis Bad Blood Compaq Center My Verdict: Stone Cold should of interfered in the Jericho versus Goldberg match creating the feud that everyone wants to see, a Stone Cold/Goldberg match, and bring back the Godfather.
