SGA wants voice in amending UH codes By Lisa Street
New business quickly found its way to the floor at the Student Government Association's third summer senate meeting in the University Center's Bluebonnet Room on Wednesday. Committees may be formed to address UH speech codes and to investigate printing procedures for students. SGA Senator Adam Perdue from the College of Engineering insisted, in a special report, that UH administration should keep students concerns in mind while reconstructing the freedom of expression policy. "We need to make recommendations to the administration on what we think speech codes should be," Perdue said. Also, Sen. Claudia Chairez from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences suggested that SGA investigate the changes in printing practices in the Graduate School of Social Work Building, M.D. Anderson Memorial Library and other high-traffic printing areas, which may lead to extra charges even though students are required to pay increasing technology fees. The next meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. July 16 in the Bluebonnet
Room, and students are welcome to attend and address the Senate.
