Whitting leaves for TCU Cougar Sports Services As an assistant baseball coach with UH over the last eight seasons, Todd Whitting wore many hats. He was the fielding coach. He was the third base coach. He was the recruiting coordinator. Now, he'll be wearing a different hat entirely. Whitting has left the UH baseball program and will now serve as an assistant coach with the Texas Christian baseball program — an in-state and conference rival. His success as a defensive coach shows in the numbers Houston has put up defensively, as the Cougars have been ranked among the nation's leaders six of the last eight seasons in fielding percentage and/or double plays. "I am very appreciative of Coach Schlossnagle and the TCU Athletics Department for giving me this opportunity," Whitting told TCU Sports Information. "The biggest factor in my decision to come to TCU was the effort and support the TCU staff has put into its baseball program." Send comments to dcsports@mail.uh.edu |
