HAO campaigns for underprivileged kids
In an effort to help underprivileged Houston area children with school supplies, the Houston Alumni Organization is holding its 13th Annual Operation School Supplies Campaign.
 

Law prof receives national honors
Michael A. Olivas, the William B. Bates Distinguished Chair in Law, can now add another accolade to his trophy case.
 

Program to educate students about alcohol
The Century Council has joined forces with the University to fight college binge drinking with knowledge and end college alcoholism with a new program for incoming students as part of the required alcohol education curriculum. 
 

Corrections

In Monday's page one story, "Lawsuit hits UH again," The Daily Cougar misreported former Dean W. Andrew Achenbaum's resignation announcement date. The announcement took place March 26, nine days after the alleged incident occurred.

Provost Edward Sheridan was misquoted in the July 23 page one story, "Spring tuition increased by $19 per credit hour." Sheridan said that despite the increases, UH is one of the lowest-costing universities in the country.
