Briles gets radio show Cougar Sports Services He won't be giving love advice, but Art Briles will get a crack at his own radio show. Through the agreement, which extends through the next three years, KAXF-FM will carry 12 editions of Cougar Talk, a weekly hour-long call-in show featuring Art Briles, as well as the "Cougar Minute" -- daily reports throughout the football season. The call-in show will be broadcast live every Monday at Irma's Southwest Grill, located at 1314 Texas in downtown Houston.
Head coach Art Briles and the Cougars are less than a month away from their first game of the 2003 season. Briles will begin a weekly radio program on Aug. 25 called Cougar Talk. Brian Viney/The Daily Cougar The announcement comes in conjunction with a multi-year partnership between International Sports Properties, the multimedia rights holder for Cougar athletics, and the radio station. "In working with ISP Sports, we felt it was essential that we have kind of exposure for Cougar Football in the Houston area," UH Athletics Director Dave Maggard told UH Sports Information. "This is a part of our overall marketing plan in promoting the football program, selling tickets and informing our fans, alumni and recruits about the program. We are pleased that in the partnership with ISP Sports we could take another important step in marketing football at UH." The initial broadcast of Cougar Talk is scheduled for Aug. 25.
