This weekend a number of bands, national and local, will grace our Houston stages with everything from punk to classic rock.

One of the biggest performers of all time, The Rolling Stones, will play on Saturday night at Reliant Stadium. This amazing band has spanned five decades and put out and put out 43 records. The show is not sold out, but the tickets are very pricey at $52 and up.

The northwest Houston club Sidecar Pub is a showcase for local and Texas bands, as well as popular national acts. This weekend, Van Wilks, one of Austinis great rock guitarists, will grace the stage on Saturday night. He has received both critical and local praise, and was voted by Austin music fans into the Austin Chronicle's "Texas Music Hall of Fame" alongside some of the state's most legendary music talents. Happy hours are from 4 to 7pm daily.

Rudyardis British Pub is known for country music, Karaoke and live rock music, brings you the talents of local band American Death Ray tonight. Rudyardis is strictly a 21 and over bar.

Scram Magazine
describes American Death Ray as "Memphis primitives working an unholy Monks/r&b amalgam, with various '68 Comeback and Compulsive Gamblers in attendance. Sounds dirty and edgy and just fine to me."

Fitzgeraldis is an all ages spot specializing in punk, and has a lot going on this weekend. Punk rock act Zwee is scheduled to perform tonight. There is a $5 charge for the show.

On Saturday night, punk rock acts 30 Foot Fall, Cimon Cimon, Irene, You Ainit Metal and The Drunks are all scheduled to perform. If you havenit seen 30 Foot Fall, and you listen to punk, youive got to check them out. They are the most successful local punk act to come out of Houston in a long time, and the best part is they havenit sold out.

The Engine Room is the only live-music venue spot in Houston to be totally dedicated to hard rock, alternative and heavy metal. Engine Room is also an all ages spot. Rock acts, Abasia, Chrome 44, Fallen Line, Lights over Roswell and Nocuous grace the stage tonight. Edge, Feeding 5000, Spillshadow and Sundowner perform on Saturday. Entry fee for all shows is $7.

For cutting edge live music, go to Rhythm Room located on Washington Ave. Rhythm Room features Texas rock acts and pop music. Dreamtrybe, Eden Automatic, The Googe and Waiting for Her perform tonight. On Saturday, Bobbie Fine, DJ Cipher and The Sumugglaz will perform. Cover charge doesn't start until after 8:30 pm. and ranges from $3 to $10 depending on the bands.

One of Houstonis newest venues, Club Proletariat, is located on Richmond Ave, where most of Houstonis nightlife is. Proletariat has pop, rock and hip-hop club with acts ranging from Aerosol Warfare to Devendra.
