The UH swimming and diving team travel north today to battle Texas Christian in Fort Worth and Southern Methodist in Dallas.

The Lady Cougars begin the weekend against TCU at 6 p.m. tonight. TCU swept their meets against Louisiana-Monroe, 129-101, and Centenary, 148-113, last weekend upping its record to 11-1 for the season.

The win against Centenary was the Horned Frogsi 11th consecutive victory in dual meets. They have lost since their season-opener against SMU. Erin Irons and Aimee Moreau won three events each for the Horned Frogs in the ULM meet. Iron placed first in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle.

Moreau won the 200-yard backstroke and helped seal the victory in the 400-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relays.

Houston then travels east to take on No. 6-ranked SMU at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Mustangs are coming off a 174-124 loss against No.3-ranked Georgia, their first dual meet loss of the season. Flavia Rigamonti went home with a pair of firsts in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle while Alenka Kejzar took first-place honors in the 200-yard individual medley. Diver Elizabeth Pike won the three-meter springboard for the Mustangs.

Houston dropped to 3-4 in dual meets this season with its 131-93 loss to Louisiana State on Friday. Senior Falon Hopkins swept both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Kristin Bay finished first in the 100-yard backstroke.

Senior diver Yulia Pakhalina swept the one- and three-meter springboard events and ended up winning her fourth C-USA Diver of the Week award of the season (ninth overall).

"We feel really good about this weekendis meets and we hope to take first, second and third in both events. I am expecting a good performance from all of my girls," diving head coach Jane Figueiredo said.
