Lawmakers address
juvenile justice
State lawmakers and proponents of social justice spoke
at a Town Hall meeting at the UH Law School on Thursday about the current
state of the Texas Youth Commission and the treatment of juvenile offenders
who are certified as adults in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
UC access to be discussed today
Members of the University Center Policy Board will meet
today in the small conference room of the UC Satellite to discuss that
very facility.
U.N. delegates meet despite alarm
The University welcomed 150 ambassadors of the United
Nations, each having goals not only of improving their respective country;
but also graduating. They are not typical diplomats; they are high school
students who apparently never stop learning, even under the threat of fire.
