News Policy Board talks Satellite issues Cougar News Staff Members of the University Center Policy Board will meet today in the small conference room of the UC Satellite to discuss that very facility. "The main focus of our policy board meeting will be centered around the Satellite itself," Keith Kowalka, assistant director of the University Center and associated facilities said. "Weill talk about the renovations and improvements," Kowalka said. The Satellite, which officially opened full services at the beginning of this semester, endured a year-and-a-half hiatus and segmented openings. The Policy Board meeting will debate how to handle requests to use the conference rooms. Faculty and student organizations will be vying for slots to use the new rooms. As for the fire that hit the UC last week, Kowalka said the incident was too minor to warrant further discussion at the meeting. "If questions are brought up, weill address it, sure, but otherwise, we probably wonit be talking about the fire," Kowalka said. The fire caused minor damage and forced the closing of one elevator for repairs over the weekend following the blaze. No one was injured. Send comments to dcnews@mail.uh.edu |
