Pakhalina wins DOW yet again

Senior diver Yulia Pakhalina closed the regular season for the swimming and diving team by winning her 11th Conference USA Diver of the Week award. It was her fourth consecutive DOW and her sixth this season.

The win marked the seasonis eighth DOW for the divers and the 10th time a Cougar has won either a DOW or a Swimmer of the Week award this year. Freshman Azul Almazan won a DOW and freshman Stacey Williams won two SOWs.

Pakhalina won the one- and three-meter diving events at Texas A&M on Saturday and was the eventis leading scorer (with a combined 667.19 points). Her run of consecutive wins in the three-meter reached 29.

The Cougars will be back in action Feb. 23 at the C-USA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
