Gabrielle Union and LL Cool J star in Gary Hardwickis romantic comedy Deliver Us From Eva, opening nationwide Friday.

LL Cool J and Gabrielle Union star in Deliver Us From Eva, a contemporary take on The Taming of the Shrew. The movie is written and produced by Gary Hardwick, of The Brothers fame.

Gabrielle Union plays Eva, "the sister-in-law from hell." She is a very uptight young woman who constantly meddles in the affairs of her three sisters and their husbands. In an attempt to tame her, the three brothers-in-law set her up with the local playboy, Ray (LL Cool J). They pay him $5,000 to date and seduce her. But before they can jump for joy, their plan begins to backfire.

Another great romantic comedy is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey star this film directed by Donald Petrie Jr.

Andie Anderson, the how-to girl for Composure Magazine, agrees to write a first-hand account of all the things women do to drive men away. For the story, she has to find a guy, make him fall in love with her, then get dumped -- all in 10 days.

With her agenda intact, she targets a handsome man, Benjamin Barry, who works at an ad agency. What Andie doesn't know is that Benjamin has just made a high-stakes bet with his boss that he can make any girl fall in love with him in just 10 days. While sheis trying to lose him, Benjamin is doing whatever it takes to keep her.

After taming the Wild West in the comedy Shanghai Noon, Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are back in the sequel, Shanghai Knights

Tom Dey directed Noon in 2000, but David Dobkin directed this yearis action-comedy. Chon Wang (Chan) and Roy OiBannon (Wilson) team up again, but this time it is off to the big city.

They are out to settle a score in foreign territory of London. When a Chinese rebel murders Chonis estranged father and makes an escape to England, Chon and Roy are forced to make their way to London with the idea of revenge. To Royis surprise, Chon has a sister, Lin. She has the same thought of revenge and uncovers a worldwide conspiracy to murder the royal family. See the movie review in todayis issue for more details.)

If youire in the mood to see a beautiful French film late one night this weekend, the landmark River Oaks Theatre is showing Brotherhood of the Wolf, originally released in the United States in January 2002, at midnight Friday and Saturday.

Set in 1765 during the reign of Louis XV, Brotherhood of the Wolf is based in part on a well-known French legend. In a rural province of France, a mysterious creature is leaving a trail of mutilated corpses across the countryside, savagely killing scores of women and children. Unseen, possessed of enormous strength and a seemingly near-human intelligence, the beast has eluded capture for years. Desperate to end the growing unrest of the populace, the king sends in a renowned scientist and his Iroquois blood brother -- an unconventional team whose combined methods and capabilities may finally bring the beast down. But what these men find, when finally confronted with the true nature of the beast, is more shocking than anyone could have anticipated.
