UH to build up sports
donation
As departments across campus look for ways to trim their
budgets, officials in the Athletics Department are developing a three-year
plan to reduce their $10.8 million budget deficit by focusing on attracting
more charitable donations, officials say.
Texans not fully aware of shortfall
The majority of Texans polled in a recent UH Center for
Public Policy survey said they knew little or nothing about the stateis
projected $10 billion budget shortfall.
Ladies vie for 'Gold' honors
After several hours of close scrutiny during on-stage
performances, Raelynn White was crowned Miss Black and Gold on Sunday.
CATS on prowl for support
In conjunction with the Houston Alumni Organization,
the legislative advocacy group for UH -- Cougar Advocates for Texas --
is urging all students, faculty and alumni to attend UH System Day in Austin
on Feb. 18.
