Governments must be stopped

David Stiles
Opinion Columnist

Again "our" government plans to start a war. The government sends us off to die every few years, but that is not the only time it murders us. Every day, the police kill us because we look "threatening" or do not follow orders. When the government is not gunning us down in the streets, it murders us on a table and calls it "execution."

The government says it must kill to preserve itself. I am unwilling to pay that price. The fact that it kills so many of us every day is enough for me to decide that we need to end government forever. The day I made that decision, my eyes were opened to the glory of creation.

Let us not have another red scare -- I am not a communist. And, no, I am not an anarchist. I just do not think any government should have any power.

Again, another war, another peace movement. We gather in the streets all over the nation to ask the government to stop killing us. We call lawmakers, we send press releases, we occupy senators' offices -- and still the government sends us off to die for oil, shopping malls and endless pounds of sandwich cookies.

I have an idea. Do not ask. Force the government to stop murdering us. What would happen if we started destroying the machinery of war? What would happen if we demolished airplanes, ships, tanks, weapons and the factories that make the munitions? Government would no longer be able to kill us.

You can waste your time yelling at people who never listen or you can start on the path to peace with my plan to recover from government. Donit worry. Itis easy. The one brain cell remaining in the heads of government goons died of loneliness long ago.

I will help you to start your recovery with a few easy steps. First, stop voting. Second, do not pay taxes. Third, never join the armed forces. But please defend yourself. Your unwillingness to defend yourself is a large part of the reason we are in this horrible mess in the first place. And fourth, disrupt any meeting of people who make decisions for you.

You can do this with pies in the face, cutting power to the places they meet and slashing the tires on their vehicles. I am certain you can think of many more.

These are only a few of the steps to recovery, and it is a good place to start. Once you realize your own power as a human being, you are well on your way to recovery.

The key to ending your addiction to government is to remember that all the government cares about is power and authority. Anything you do to show your lack of respect for power and authority will do wonders for your recovery.

Never forget that you must demolish government out of love. Defend life because you love life, not because you hate government. Do not wait until tomorrow.

People are dying right now. We no longer have the luxury of passing out on the sofa. Your recovery begins today.
