votes counted in student elections
The Student Government Association
general election ended Thursday with a total of 2,984 votes cast during
the two days of polling, the SGA Election Commission said. The election
results will be announced at noon today in the University Center Underground's
World Affairs Lounge.
Bush's
space plan simply political posturing
John Glenn stepped up and
told President Bush what a joke his space plan is. It's about time. I knew
Bush's space plan -- wanting to go to Mars on a whim and build a moon base
-- was a bad idea. And I wouldn't put it past Bush to want to get the American
public going about space and a fantastic mission to Mars so he could then
abandon it and build up plans for the militarization of space.

of divers aim for NCAAs
Though they have carried
the Cougars for most of the season, Houston's dynamic young trio will be
competing for themselves when the UH swimming and diving team hosts the
NCAA Zone D Diving Championships this weekend at the Campus Recreation
and Wellness Center Natatorium.
