up the pace
If you know anything about
Tom Penders, you know that he likes to run.
That doesn't mean he's an
avid jogger. It means that throughout his coaching career, his teams have
moved faster than just about any other -- pressing and trapping on defense,
running the fastbreak with abandon on offense.

falls short on late homer
The Cougars came within
inches of exacting revenge on the Red Raiders, but those few inches made
all the difference.
Josh Haney's leadoff home
run in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Texas Tech to a 12-11 win
over UH on Tuesday at First American Bank Ballpark in Midland.
