Campus Spotlight



TODAY

Meet Muhammad: The Muslim Students Association will have a series of seminars, an art display and slideshow during a presentation titled "Muhammad: Humanity's Teacher," from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the UC's Bluebonnet Room. A free lunch will be served. 

Eats and advice: The UH Baptist Student Ministry will offer a free lunch and a relationships seminar on "Finding the One," from noon to 1 p.m. in the BSM Building.

Listen: The Student Program Board hosts a listening party for the Frontier Fiesta Calvin Richardson concert from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the UC's North Patio. 

Karate kid: The Shotokan Karate Club at UH is offering free weekly practices to students interested in learning traditional karate under Sensei Deddy Mansyur. The sessions are held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the UC's World Affairs Lounge. For more information, visit www.uh.edu/shotokan.

In faith: Couples for Christ's Youth for Christ Campus Base will meet at 6 p.m. in the UC Underground's Caribbean Room. For more information, call Phillip at (713) 775-2505.

Open house meditation: The Sahaj Marg chapter at UH hosts a free open house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the UC's Bayou City Room. For more information, call Divya at (832) 642-4719.
 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Mary's money: The UH Women's Association is accepting applications for the 2004-2005 Mary Harding Hoffman scholarships. Applications are due April 15.

Helping out: The provost's office is seeking applicants for its Disabilities Awareness Program, which helps students with disabilities with a variety of tasks, including tutoring and note-taking. Students should apply before April 12, though applications will be accepted after that date. The first 20 people accepted to the program will get a $500 stipend.
