UH to host last strategic plan meeting Input will be used in a 10-year System blueprint Cougar News Staff The last of four meetings to seek input for a strategic plan for the UH System will be held Friday at the University Hilton. The UHS Board of Regents hopes to use information gathered from meetings at all four System universities to create a blueprint the System can follow in the next five or 10 years. The System has grown 18 percent in the past seven years, and UH recorded its highest-ever enrollment -- topping 35,000 -- in the fall. The numbers are expected to increase with an expected 1 million more people moving to the Houston area in the next decade. UH interim Provost and System Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Jerald Strickland will chair Friday's meeting. Strickland, faculty members, academic deans, alumni and community leaders will make presentations, followed by an open-mic session for anyone to share their views of the University and the System. Friday's meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. and
will run through 12:30 p.m. in the University Hilton's Shamrock Room. The
entire campus community is welcome to attend.
