diversity in Fiesta?
In 1958, Life Magazine called
Frontier Fiesta the "The Greatest College Show on Earth." Today, the event's
officials are hoping to regain that status by dusting off the welcome mat
and stressing that all students can leave feeling they, too, can partake
in the annual UH tradition.
Hispanic
press marks 25th year
When Arte Público
began publishing Latin American literature, it was filling a niche that
most large publishing houses ignored. Now, 25 years later, the press is
the nation's largest Hispanic literature publisher and the largest nonprofit
publishing house in the country -- and it is based at UH.

Katy institute continues to grow
The University of Houston
System at Cinco Ranch reached an all-time high enrollment of 1,036 this
spring, a feat the institution's director, Kurt Czupryn, attributed to
a variety of factors, including general community awareness of the campus
and offering a set of programs that caters to the community.

professor wins national research award
An associate professor of
chemistry at UH won the Arthur K. Doolittle Award in the Polymeric Materials:
Science and Engineering Division for his work in researching thin-film
polymer formation. |
