System planning meetings end today Vice chancellors to present in last of strategic hearings Cougar News Services UH System vice chancellors will report on the future of the System this morning in the final public hearing for the UHS' strategic planning process. The vice chancellors will discuss the System's future in the fields of student affairs, academic affairs, university advancement, governmental relations and information technology. The meeting follows public sessions held at each System university during which campus and community leaders discussed their visions and goals for the System for the next 10 years. Political science professor Richard Murray, director of the UH Center for Public Policy, will also present today on issues regarding demographic trends in Houston and Texas. The Board of Regents will consider information gathered from the series of meetings this spring when it forms a strategic plan intended to direct the System's future development. Today's meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. in the University Hilton's Shamrock Room. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend; the meeting will conclude with a public comment session at 11 a.m., when anyone may share thoughts about UH and the System.
