SGA
leaders prepare for the year's work
Student Government Association President
Jon Quintanilla branded the first meeting of the 41st SGA administration
with the reminder that, whether it is old or new, the Senate's business
always leads back to the students.
UH poets invited
to open mic
UH's Poetry and Prose series will
mark National Poetry Month with an open-mic program Wednesday evening.
All campus poets are invited to attend and read their works. Poetry and
Prose, a project of the Creative Writing Program and the UH Libraries,
is a series of readings from the University's writers.
Energy program
gets $100K grant
UH's Global Energy Management Institute
has received a $100,000 grant to support its undergraduate professional
training program for two years.
The Barbara Bush Excellence in Education
Award from the Independent Petroleum Association of America will support
scholarships, curriculum, internships and marketing in GEM Track, the institute's
Undergraduate Honors Program.
Cougar, yearbook
editors to be chosen
The Student Publications Committee
will meet this afternoon to elect the editors in chief of The Daily Cougar
for the summer and fall semesters and the editor in chief of the Houstonian
yearbook.
Corrections
On Page 6 of Wednesday's edition,
The Daily Cougar misidentified a photo of a UH track athlete. Former UH
sprinter Robert Foster was photographed.
In the Cougar's April 1 edition, the
Page 1 story "Story nothing short of a miracle" incorrectly stated 52-year-old
student Lynette Spedale's former occupation. She worked as a loader for
United Parcel Service. |
