UH poets invited to open mic Poetry and Prose will open floor to aspiring UH writers Cougar News Services UH's Poetry and Prose series will mark National Poetry Month with an open-mic program Wednesday evening. All campus poets are invited to attend and read their works. Poetry and Prose, a project of the Creative Writing Program and the UH Libraries, is a series of readings from the University's writers. The featured reader Wednesday will be Kathleen Lee, visiting assistant creative writing professor and author of Travel Among Men, a collection of short stories. Her work has also appeared in Best American Travel Writing in 2001 and 2002. Lee writes for Condé Nast Traveler magazine and has traveled to Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Poetry and Prose's open mic will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Honors College commons, located on the second floor of the M.D. Anderson Memorial Library's new wing.
