Armed robber strikes Sunday at Cullen Oaks

Cougar News Staff

A weekend aggravated robbery near the University campus has police on the lookout for another suspect.

The victim was seated in her vehicle adjacent to the north entry of the Cullen Oaks apartments, 4600 Cullen Blvd., at 4:35 a.m. Sunday when a suspect approached her, produced a semi-automatic handgun and demanded her purse.

The suspect was last seen running south along Cullen Boulevard carrying the purse.

He is described as a black male between 19 and 21 years of age, between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches in height and about 175 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt, baggy black jeans and a black baseball cap turned backward.

This incident follows two aggravated robberies and one attempted robbery March 27 and 28 by two suspects armed with a shotgun.

Anyone with information about this or any campus crime should contact UHPD at (713) 743-3333 or use one of the emergency call boxes on campus.
