Learn
a thing or two about hardcore
Lately, I've become fed up (imagine
that) with the gratuitous use of the word "hardcore" in relation to some
bands. Watching fake bands perform to sold-out venues while local artists
struggle for recognition in their own backyard has contributed greatly.
Tarantino's
knack for layered characters, gory plot lines excuses movie's late arrival
The latest Q & U creation should
leave no questions about Uma Thurman's unflinching on-screen prowess as

geek's cinematic touch was gone.
Tarantino learns
to advance story with soundtrack
Anyone who's experienced a Quentin
Tarantino film knows his films aren't complete without an earful of solid
sounds. Tarantino will never reach Sergio Leone or Stanley Kubrick's level
of wrapping scenes with such fitting songs or scores, but the Knoxville,
Tenn., native knocks down the door when compared to most directors' diluted
music tastes.
'Leland' explodes
suburbs
It's usually the case that the movie is never
as good as the book. But in the case of The United States of Leland
it's doubtful that any book could ever rise to match the visual beauty
of what is a strikingly literary film.
