Rockets
not ready for Kobe
In their first visit to the NBA playoffs
in five years, the Houston Rockets will get swept. Not because they're
facing the Los Angeles Lakers, but because they're going up against Kobe
Bryant.
Coogs can
right ship vs. Billikens
The Boys of Summer visit St. Louis
to open a three-game series with Conference USA rival Saint Louis in the
Billiken Sports Center tonight at 7 p.m. Houston has an opportunity
to sweep the series against SLU, which would give the Cougars some momentum
to bring their record to the .500 mark.
Jones ready
for WNBA
Saturday's WNBA Draft will go a long
way toward determining Chandi Jones' future. The senior guard will probably
be one of the first five or six picks, when she will find out where she
will begin her professional career. One thing is almost certain; Jones
won't be in Houston anymore.
UH wins in first round of tourney
The Cougars are still alive in the Conference USA Championships.
Not that this was in any doubt, since all 14 teams will play at least four
matches regardless of outcome. But the Cougars are still on the path to
reaching the finals.
