Remembering Reagan
UH scholars who have studied President
Ronald Reagan's legacy and professors who have worked within it agree that
when Reagan died Saturday, America lost a leader who infected an anxious
nation with optimism and set the mold for the modern American president.
Smith: Area growth will keep ahead
of averages
The U.S. economy should see steady
growth through the year, and Houston's involvement in the energy sector
should keep the city ahead of the curve, UH economist Barton Smith said
during his annual real estate symposium in May.
Theatre festival kicks off
The UH Children's Theatre Festival
is under way, and the stars of its first show are a singing wolf and pink
goats -- no kidding.
Sand art earns UH 2 awards
GALVESTON -- All the competitors in
this year's American Institute of Architects Sandcastle Competition came
home with sunburns and sand in their shorts -- but the team of UH architecture
students was the only one to take away two awards. |
