ANNOUNCEMENTS

The show: The UH School of Theatre's musical collaboration program, led by Stuart Ostrow, will present excerpts from three student-produced musicals at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $6.25 in advance or $7.25 at the door. Ticket information is available at www.uniquelyhouston.org.

Who's who: The Department of Campus Activities is accepting nominations for this year's volume of Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. Applications for the nomination process can be obtained online at www.uh.edu/campus/cact or at the Campus Activities office, Room 51, University Center Underground. The deadline for the applications is 5 p.m. Dec. 23. For more information, call (713) 743-5180.

Elect yourself: The College Libertarians of UH are on the lookout for would-be Libertarian politicians to come to their meeting Thursday to register for candidacy in the 2004 elections. If you think you may have Libertarian tendencies, you can take a test at www.lp.org. For more information, call Monica at (832) 259-2830.

Sock it: The Staff Council is accepting donations for its Sock and Blanket Drive at 10 locations around campus, including Moody Towers, Oberholtzer Hall, the University Hilton, Houston Science Center and the UH Child Care Center. Through the smoke: Cougar PEP is hosting a Great American Smoke Out "What If" campaign and invites anyone negatively affected by tobacco to come by Room 1038, Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, to express their experience on a "What if" quilt.
