Rollins doesn't
need band to rock hard
Henry Rollins unleashed a thought provoking assault upon
an audience at the Engine Room on Monday night, but the punk pioneer wasn't
screaming into the mic fronting the Rollins Band. He did what he said he
likes to do best -- he shared witty commentary about his daily observations
during the spoken word session, Shock and Awe My Ass Tour.
'Devil's music' goes bad with
holiness
Once rock 'n' roll had exploded on the world, preachers,
evangelists and good wholesome God-fearing Christian folk immediately declared
it the devil's music. These misguided souls protested shows and radio stations
to warn the fragile youth that rock 'n' roll would claim their souls and
send them straight to hell.
