Bush defends Iraq
invasion, tax cuts
Despite its success in the War on Terror, the United
States must continue to combat terrorism and remain a pivotal player in
establishing peace throughout the world, President Bush said in his State
of the Union address Tuesday.
Enrollment disruptions temporary
An overload in the computer system that controls enrollment
management services caused brief disruptions of service Tuesday, but University
officials said the problems were not long-term.
Fuentes will speak at UH
Carlos Fuentes, the Mexican author and scholar, will
deliver this yearis Farfel Distinguished Lecture on Feb. 11.
Program inspires Houston's teachers
Michea Carter was ready to quit her teaching job and
give up on education. She spent her days searching for other jobs online
because, as a teacher, she felt she had nothing left.
