OPINION
Time on our side
in ongoing Iraq conflict
It's a type of headline so commonplace that it's become
invisible: "Roadside bomb kills three GIs," "Car bomb kills two, wounds
17," or "Bored sniper shoots cows, trees, anything." You already know it's
about Iraq and the slow process of rebuilding going on there. As you also
know, President Bush declared the war over months ago. What's going on?
Cougar football must be held accountable
I couldn't care less about football — which, for a native
Texan like myself, is seen as something of a sacrilege in these parts —
but I decided to tune in to ESPN on Christmas to watch Houston play Hawaii
in the Hawaii Bowl, the only bowl game played on Christmas day. It turned
into a truly exciting contest, even for somebody as unapologetic or uninterested
in football as I am, with Hawaii finally winning 54-48 in triple overtime.
Misdirected grants perplexing
This is the first semester I have ever had a problem
receiving my grant money for living expenses. After already calling and
speaking extensively with employees from the financial aid and Cougar 1Card
departments, it has come to my attention that my grant check had been automatically
forwarded to the Cougar 1Card offices.
