Campus Crime Update

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Jan. 23 and 25. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics shows when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD by calling (713) 743-0600.

Striking unattended vehicle: 12:41 p.m. Jan. 23, Parking Lot 1A -- Complainant reported an unknown person(s) struck her unattended vehicle and did not leave information as required by law. Occurred between 2 p.m. Jan. 21 and 3:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

Theft: 3:25 p.m. Jan. 23, M.D. Anderson Memorial Library third floor -- A female student reported an unknown person(s) stole her unattended wallet. Occurred at 3:20 p.m.

Driving with suspended license: 1:19 a.m. Jan. 24, Wheeler at Calhoun -- A visitor was arrested and transported to the Harris County Jail for driving while his license was suspended.

Theft: 1:49 p.m., M.D. Anderson Memorial Library fourth floor -- Complainant reported an unknown person(s) stole her unsecured, unattended book bag, and an unauthorized charge was made to her check card by an unknown person(s). An investigation is under way. Occurred between 11:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Burglary of a motor vehicle: 3:30 p.m. Jan. 24, Parking Lot 15H -- Complainant reported an unknown person(s) stole approximately $5 in change from his secured, unattended vehicle. Occurred between 9 p.m. Jan. 23 and 3:30 p.m. Jan. 24.

Assault: 4:07 p.m. Jan. 24, Campus Recreation and Wellness Center -- A student who had been denied entry to the recreation center because he did not have his student or state identification cards punched a student worker in the left eye. The student was issued a citation and a Student Life Referral and released.

Criminal trespass: 2:46 a.m. Jan. 25, Cambridge Oaks Apartments -- A visitor who had been issued a criminal trespass warning was seen riding his bicycle through the Cambridge Oaks apartment complex. The visitor was arrested and transported to the Harris County Jail.
