New degree would
focus on pollution
Members of the UH System Board of Regents will consider
a proposal to create a bachelor of science program in environmental systems
and modeling, a course of study designed to train Houstonians to deal with
the city's air quality problems, during committee meetings today.
Textbook trials
College textbook publishers are inflating the price of
textbooks and selling bundled materials students rarely use in class, a
new report claims.
Project Row Houses gives hope
to young mothers
The program for young mothers at Project Row Houses meant
hope for 28-year-old artist Shy Morris. "My son, Sanander, didn't have
too much. We were both sleeping on the sofa at my grandmother's house,"
Morris, who went through the year-long program in 1998, said. "The Young
Mothers Program added stability. I could be Shy instead of what everyone
else wanted me to be." |
