OPINION

Web vigilantes walking a thin moral wire
As an American male and a shameless geek, I have to admit that Batman is one of my personal heroes: he's an ordinary human who fights crime mainly by virtue of his brains and years of training. He's not afraid to do what he knows is right, even if it may get him in trouble. At times, this puts him on the wrong side of the law, but that's par for the course for a comic book superhero.

Logic often eclipsed by close-mindedness
It was when I was walking through the ever-safe economy lot that I got a perfect view of 20 teeth; molars, canines, incisors, the whole deal. They were all bright and white and attached to the wide-eyed face of a little girl, no more than five, who sat alone inside the passenger seat of a car. She stared at me with her teeth clenched in a gesture I could only describe as "scarecitement."

Voting the key to America's future
Recently a whole host of the music industry's biggest stars were in Houston promoting community activism and registering people to vote. Led by rap mogul Russell Simmons, these celebrities have banded together in hopes of increasing our youth's political awareness. All I can say is God bless them, because they have a mighty chore in front of them, and not just with the youth.
