Arrest made in UH student's murder Police credit a $25,000 reward with helping them catch suspect Cougar News Services Sheriff's detectives arrested a suspect in the Sept. 26 murder of UH student Bryan Lawrence on Monday, saying a $25,000 reward helped them catch the alleged killer. Ray Anthony Edwards, 25, was arrested for allegedly killing Lawrence during a robbery at the Hollywood Video at the North Sam Houston Parkway and West Road, where Lawrence worked, the Houston Chronicle reported. Lawrence let Edwards into the store, probably because Edwards had been a customer there before, detectives said. Lawrence was an aspiring actor who will appear in The Alamo, the Disney film set for release in April. Detectives said Lawrence might have been killed because he could identify the robber. A Cadillac that was used in the holdup,
then sold, was recovered Monday, the Chronicle reported.
