OPINION
Female
sexuality not shameful
I took my tongue piercing
out after a week because at the time I was afraid of what people might
think. I'll be honest, I was worried that everyone who saw the barbell
in my mouth would assume that I participate in oral sex, and since I am
female, assume I was a slut.
Shock
politics serve little purpose
I remember a blissful point
in my life when I had no understanding of the way the world worked. I floated
through the day laughing at the squabbling between those strange Democrats
and Republicans or the infinitely stranger independents.
Morality
should remain personal
A man went into a coffee
shop wearing an Arnold Schwarzenegger T-shirt. Starts out like a joke,
right? Well, I work at the coffee shop and felt inclined to ask him to
translate the Terminator's German jumble printed on the shirt. He informed
me that it was a Nazi battle cry of some sort, at which point I began to
itch my collar and search for the nearest exit. "This is for Arnold, or
..." I tried to ask.
