Final six groups will have SFAC hearings New SGA proposal among the items on final day's agenda Cougar News Staff The Student Fees Advisory Committee hearings will conclude today with six presentations, including a second proposal from the Student Government Association. The SGA was asked to re-work its presentation because the committee found errors in its budget. Dean of Students William Munson said the budget didn't reflect the SGA's actual expenses and was not in the format SFAC requires. The SGA's new hearing will be held at 11:30 a.m. Among the other groups presenting today will be Learning Support Services, which received one of the highest allocation recommendations last year. LSS will request $439,140, including an increase in base funding of nearly $50,000 to allow the hiring of an additional learning strategies counselor. LSS is a tutoring and academic support service designed to improve retention and graduation rates at the University. Following today's hearings, SFAC members will begin deliberations on how to divvy up the more than $10 million in non-dedicated student fees among fee-funded organizations. The committee's recommendations will be submitted to University President Jay Gogue for approval. Today's hearing schedule is as follows, with all hearings taking place
