Cougars out-swim
Incarnate Word
The Cougar swimming and diving squad
traveled west to San Antonio to face the University of Incarnate Word where
they defeated the Cardinals 73-62 Friday, improving their record to 5-7.
UH-Downtown student Juan Diaz
retains lightweight title at Reliant
Junior political science major at
UH-Downtown and World Boxing Association Lightweight Champion Juan "Baby
Bull" Diaz successfully defended his title for the third time on Friday
at the sold-out Reliant Center against Billy "The Kid" Irwin in front of
3,300 people. Diaz's record now stands at 27-0 with 13 knockouts.
Men's squad takes team title,
women's takes third
Friday saw the Cougar men's track
squad take the team title at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational held
at the Yeoman Fieldhouse, while the women's track squad finished third.
Cougars run over Bulls in second
road victory
The Cougars won just their second
road game of the season Saturday as they traveled to Tampa, Fla. to face
South Florida defeating the Bulls 62-50.
