Sports Cougars run over Bulls in second road victory Cougar Sports Services The Cougars won just their second road game of the season Saturday as they traveled to Tampa, Fla. to face South Florida defeating the Bulls 62-50. Senior Andre Owens rebounded from his scoreless performance against Texas Christian on Wednesday and led in scoring with a 16-point night followed by sophomore Lanny Smith with 15 points. Just before the half, Owens went on a 9-2 run in the final four minutes, putting the Cougars ahead 27-22 as they ran into the locker room. In the second half, South Florida was outscored 14-2 in a six-minute stretch by Houston with Smith contributing eight points, putting the Cougars in the lead by 12. Leather, the season's leading scorer for the Bulls, had scored 25 points in the two previous USF games but missed several minutes in the second half. The Cougar victory improves Houston's record to 12-7 and 3-2 in Conference USA play while the Bull loss drops them to 8-8 overall and 1-4 in conference. Up next for the Cougars will be Tulane as the Green
