Resurrect 'Evil' for the weekend

Every Thursday the Life and Arts Weekend section prints suggestions for how Daily Cougar readers should spend their two-day break. It is filled with concerts and movies and events that gives people ideas with which to waste 48 hours. What about the people who are a little anti-social? The kind that sit in front of the computer all day and night hoping they can level up one more time before they pass out. If you're anything like me, a wild Saturday night is staying up until 5 a.m. playing online games. 

Hey, it's still socializing, but just with more shooting and explosions. 

Fear not, my aloof brothers and sisters, for I have brought you a place in the Life and Arts Weekend; and it will be chock-full of ideas for game rentals, videogame rants, and more ideas for wasting away in front of a illuminated screen with a controller or mouse in hand while the world passes you by. Just don't complain to me when you fail a class because you didn't study. 

Also, this place will be a haven for those of you who might be stuck on a particular hard spot on a game (feel free to write in) as I will rent or purchase the game and figure it out for you.

After playing the masterpiece that is Resident Evil 4, I realized how much I missed the original, so I went to Blockbuster and rented the remake of Resident Evil for the Game Cube. Although I knew exactly what to do from days long ago, giving the game another run-through was totally worth it. You don't really miss flesh-eating undead until they take it out like in RE4. But any gamer can get their fix of some zombie-splatterin' in gruesome detail on the remake of the first Resident Evil. 

New graphics with an old game brought me to think of the remake of the first Metal Gear Solid for Game Cube. If you haven't checked out the update to the PSone classic, get up right now and rent it. It's got all the magic again with graphics on par with MGS2. If you checked both of these out (or RE didn't leave enough brain matter around to traumatize you) go ahead and rent Resident Evil 0. It's a prequel to the first RE game and can be quite fun.

If this isn't enough for you to do in one weekend, then I guess you can try one of the other events mentioned, but it's not my fault if they don't have zombies.
