Life & Arts Design majors raffle off revamping reward By Dusti Rhodes
UH students looking for a change might want to take advantage of a contest that offers them the chance to spruce up their space. The UH Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers is giving students the opportunity to have their dorm room or a room in their apartment or home redecorated through a raffle that will run until Feb. 10. Kevin Hamby, an officer of ASID-UH and liaison for the contest named Cougar Spaces said the organization was excited about the prospect of working with the winner to create a space they could call their own. Hamby said he came across the idea for Cougar Spaces while watching programs such as Trading Spaces. Hamby said that the contest was also a chance for the ASID-UH to make their presence known on the campus as well as raise money for their organization's expenses. The contest is open to all faculty, students and staff whether they live on or off campus. ASID-UH will be selling raffle tickets for $3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Center Satellite, UC Arbor and in the PGH breezeway until Feb. 10. The winner will be announced March 1. The organization is still seeking more corporate
sponsors to help cover the cost of the redesign; those interested in helping
or who have information that could be of use should contact Elizabeth Barroso
via e-mail at elizabeth_borroso@hotmail.com.
