News UH-Victoria reaches a record for enrollment Cougar News Services UH-Victoria reached an enrollment milestone this semester, counting more than 2,520 students. "The (number of) students currently enrolled are not only a record spring enrollment, but also an all-time record for the university," UHV President Tim Hudson told The Victoria Advocate. The university's enrollment has increased by about 10 percent each of the past seven spring semesters, an unusual trend at a time when many schools' enrollments are declining. Officials attribute the increase to a variety of programs, including Try UHV, which lets students take their first class at the university free on a trial basis. Another contributing factor is increased online enrollment,
which has expanded into areas of southwest Houston.
