News Campus Crime Report The following is a partial report of campus crime between Feb. 3 and Wednesday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event's location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600. Theft: 10:25 p.m. Feb. 3, Parking Lot 1B -- a staff member reported an unknown person(s) stole four spinner hubcaps from his parked vehicle between 4 and 10 p.m. Theft: 9:30 a.m. Feb. 6, University Hilton eighth floor -- A visitor reported an unknown person(s) stole her earrings from her unattended, secured hotel room while she attended a conference. Occurred between 7:20 p.m. Feb. 4 and 9:30 a.m. Feb. 5. Theft: 1:05 p.m. Monday, Moores School of Music Building courtyard -- A student reported an unknown person(s) stole her unattended, unsecured cellular telephone from the top of a bench between 4:55 and 5 p.m. Jan. 24. Possession of a controlled substance: 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, 3400 block of Elgin Avenue -- A visitor was stopped for driving with no headlights and failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and was found to have an expired driver's license and be in possession of a controlled substance. The visitor was transported to Harris County Jail. Burglary: 10:04 a.m. Tuesday, Science & Research 1 first floor -- An unknown person(s) damaged and stole several items from a vending machine between 9 a.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday. Theft: 3:48 p.m. Tuesday, M.D. Anderson Memorial Library third floor -- A student reported an unknown person(s) stole her textbook, which was later found lying on a shelf. Occurred at 3:40 p.m. Burglary: 4:23 p.m. Tuesday, Parking Lot 8A -- A student reported an unknown person(s) shattered the rear passenger window of her parked, secured vehicle and stole her purse from inside. Occurred between 11 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Driving while intoxicated: 1:19 a.m. Wednesday, 4620 Old Spanish Trail -- A visitor was arrested and transported to Harris County Jail for driving while intoxicated after he was seen striking a concrete wall on the Gulf Freeway. Criminal trespassing: 6:29 p.m. Wednesday, Cullen Oaks -- A student
was arrested for criminal trespassing after having a confrontation with
her ex-boyfriend. Two prior criminal trespass warnings prohibited her from
being in the apartment complex. She was transported to Harris County Hail
and issued a Student Life Referral. Occurred at 6 p.m.
