LIFE & ARTS
Coltrane's essence
rides on 'Blue Train'
If there were a musical sainthood,
John Coltrane would be first in line for canonization. He approached his
art with a scholar's devotion and an unwavering desire to innovate, and
the goal was not material success, but enlightenment.
Mediocrity is healed in time with
'Scar'
Some albums just seem to get better
and better with each listen. Surprisingly, Favorite Scar, the debut album
by Dallas-based band The Vanished falls neatly into that category.
Girls can be a guide to good music,
if not love

a dollar short when it comes to professing my love, but I say they should
stop letting Hallmark decide when it's OK to let someone know they care. |
