Life & Arts Games well worth academic apathy Leet Speak Derek Lanphier I've been skipping class a lot this week (you know you do it) to play City of Heroes. If you haven't heard about it, it is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game that feels more like an action game and allows you to create a superhero. I believe that almost anyone can enjoy or find something to relate to in this game. Right now, the developer has a special deal going on for Valentine's Day. Every player is given a code that allows him or her to share the game with a friend, provided they still have friends after neglecting them because of video games. So this weekend is a great chance to try out CoH. Find a pal that has an account already and see if you can score his or her code for a fourteen-day trial of the game that doesn't require you to buy the game as you can download the client online. All you'll have to do if you decide to purchase CoH is pay the monthly charges for the game that average at about $15 a month, but it is worth it because you don't have to throw down the original fifty to purchase the game. Players will probably be willing to give you their code too because it helps them get into the closed beta for City of Villains -- the first major expansion to the game. If you can't find a friend that plays CoH or don't have any, the game is still worth checking out. Although the game is almost a year old, it's constantly updated with ‘mini-expansions' that are free. The developers add new zones to explore and villains to beat. Be sure to check this one out this weekend or anytime
soon. I totally condone skipping class for playing video games, too.
