Campus Spotlight


TODAY

Actin', modeling: The Department of Chemical Engineering will host Jhih-Wei Chu of the University of Utah, who will give a talked titled "Allostery of Actin Filaments: Atomistic Simulations and Coarse-grained Modeling" at 10:30 a.m. in Room W122-D3, Cullen College of Engineering.

Younger and more talented than most of us: The Blaffer Gallery will host the opening reception for "Funtitled and the 4 year Itch: A Young Artist Apprenticeship Exhibition" from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibit features the work of four high school students and will be on display through March 18.

Conference play: The last day to register for the Allied Health Professionals Society's conference at the University of Texas Health Center in San Antonio is today. For more information or to register, e-mail ahps_uh@yahoo.com or call (713) 743-3690.

No break yet: University Career Services will host a campus recruitment workshop at 3 p.m. in Room 106, Student Service Center. The CRW can also be taken online at www.career.uh.edu.
 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Worldwide: The Council of Ethnic Organizations is accepting nominations of female students for Women of the World 2006. The applications are available at the CEO office in Room 63, UC, or by emailing ceo_uh@yahoo.com. Deadline is March 31st.

Ambassadors: The Office of International Student and Scholar Services is accepting applications for volunteer peer adviser leaders to assist with check-in and orientation programs for new and transfer international students. If you are interested in serving in the summer and Fall 2006, please visit www.issso.uh.edu to apply. Application deadline is March 21.
