The Cougars (21-12, 3-3) are coming off a 1-2 (3-2, 8-5, 5-4)

series against C-USA rival Tulsa. Leading Houston at the plate are freshman catcher Elaina Nordstrom and freshman shortstop Jessica Valis with .350 and .339 batting averages, respectively. On the mound, junior Candi Kloecker holds a 1.36 ERA and a 7-6 record, while Shamblin claims a 1.91 ERA and an 8-5 record.

The 2005 Atlantic Sun Champions will step on its home field after dropping a three-game series (7-2, 6-1, 12-8) to Marshall (16-12, 4-2). During the Golden Knights' eight run performance, Lindsay Dean went 2-for-3 at the plate, while first/third baseman Breanne Javier and outfielder Kacie Feaster hit their second and third homers of the season, respectively. Despite UCF holding an 8-0 lead in the fourth, the lead slowly began to disappear as the Thundering Herd got one run in the bottom of the fourth, three in the fifth and an impressive eight in the sixth.

UCF is led by third baseman Cici Alvarez with a .330 batting average, followed by Feaster with .314. In the circle, Lexi Greham (2-2) leads with a 1.57 ERA. However, Allison Kime has seen more action this season with a 9-8 record and 1.77 ERA.

Saturday's doubleheader action will be at noon and 2 p.m., while the first pitch on Sunday is set for noon.
