Life & Arts UH student film crew holds casting call by GERONIMO RODRIGUEZ
A UH student film crew is searching for aspiring actors on campus to fill the cast for a comedy it hopes to submit to national film festivals. A casting call will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in Room 122, Communication Building. Male and female actors ranging from 20-35 years of age are welcomed to attend the casting call. Christina Levin, a media production senior, will serve as the short film's casting and assistant director. Levin said communication professor Keith Houk will direct the film, which has not been titled. "(Anyone who attends the casting call) should have at least some experience in acting," Levin said. "Our goal is to have theater majors in the film, but we're just looking for people who have at least some acting experience." Levin said she and the crew believe working on a short film is a great opportunity for them. "I guess it's a challenge for us to try out what we've learned from books and studying this whole time and transferring it all into this short film," Levin said. The crew's main goal, Levin said, is to submit the short film to national film festivals. "Right now, there are plenty festivals coming up like the Chicago Film Festival," Levin said. The film's production begins at the end of May, Levin said. For more information on the casting call, send Levin
an e-mail at christinalevin@yahoo.com or call her at (832) 533-4826.
