Report card triples your pleasure Computer lab survey: Inc. A University task force is taking surveys of students who use the M.D. Anderson Memorial Library and Social Work Central Site computer labs to determine what changes, if any, need to be made to technology resources on campus. The administration has said there are currently no plans to take away 24-hour access to the Social Work lab. An all-hours lab is more expensive to run, but having somewhere on campus where students can use quality computers to make up for procrastinating is a valuable resource for a top-notch university. Houston Dynamo: A Who would have thought Major League Soccer's coming out party in Houston would have been so impressive? On one level, it was sort of odd -- the Dynamo's 5-2 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Sunday at Robertson Stadium drew more fans than the 2005 Houston/Rice football game. But hey, we're not bitter. (Seriously, more of you need to come to the football games next season.) It was exciting to see forward Brian Ching, a member of the U.S. national team and the guy responsible for four of Sunday's goals, grab his jersey triumphantly, as if to say, "This is a jersey." No, really, he seemed pretty happy to be playing in a town that appreciated the team. We hope the attendance stays high -- it would be good for the University to have a successful pro sports team playing on campus, not to mention the games would be more fun. Stop by Robertson at 7:30 p.m. Saturday to see the Dynamo play the Kansas City Wizards — it's only $10 with a student ID. However, it'd be wise to leave early and eat beforehand, given the logistical problems from last week's game. John Lennon bus: huh? It's nice the John Lennon Education Bus stopped by campus and gave students a chance to play some music and take tours. But did it seem odd to see Lennon's face on the side of a vehicle plastered with advertisements? Whether you revere Lennon as a visionary or think he was a pompous prick -- what, too soon? -- It's pretty clear what he stood for, and a commercial feeding frenzy probably wouldn't have been high on his priority list. At least Yoko's probably getting even richer.
