Campus Spotlight


TODAY

Big day: The Nigerian Students Association will hold a general meeting and its 2006 elections in the UC Mediterranean Room. The social part of the meeting will take place from 5 to 6 p.m.; the general meeting will take place from 6 to 6:30 p.m.; and the elections will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Voting will be from 8:30 to 10 p.m. You must be an UH NSA paid member with a Cougar 1Card to vote or run for an officer position. SATURDAY

Sensory blast: The Pakistani Students Association will host a show titled "Cultural Renaissance" featuring dances, skits, fashion and live music from 7 p.m. to midnight in the Cullen Performance Hall. Admission is $5, or free with a student ID. For more information, call (832) 782-3746.

Helping the new kids: Peer advisers are needed for the new international student check-in and orientation for summer and fall. Pick up an application at the International Student and Scholar Services office, Room 302, Student Service Center, or online at www.issso.uh.edu. Deadline is Monday.

Strong support: Fostering Support Advocacy Group will hold support meetings for foster care alumni from 4 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday in the Urban Experience Program Office, Room 250G, Oberholtzer Hall. For more information, e-mail fostering.support@gmail.com.
