Life & Arts Master P picks a bone with Bow Wow Hip-Hop Update ELI JABBE Anyone who's heard Young Jeezy's debut album is familiar with the term "sneak-dissing." The term is another saying for subliminal disses. Bow Wow's song "Fresh Azimiz" is apparently sneak-dissing his rival Lil Romeo, son of Master P. While Romeo's name isn't mentioned, it's apparent the song's about him. Romeo responded to Bow Wow with a diss track of his own. At the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards, Master P, with several goons, approached Bow Wow backstage. Master P was particularly irked by the line in "Fresh Azimiz" where Bow Wow states, "I'm 18 and I'm making more than your dad." The fact that Master P's recent fame has come from his appearance on the stupid show Dancing With the Stars, his Nickelodeon TV show with his son Romeo, and now, this beef with Bow Wow, shows how much P has fallen off. Fiasco prepares new album Chicago artist Lupe Fiasco has been working on his debut album Food and Liquor. Last week, the video for his first single "Kick, Push" debuted on several video outlets. Fans probably remember Fiasco's impressive guest appearance on Kanye West's latest single "Touch The Sky." Hip-hop legend Jay-Z is executive producer of Fiasco's debut, which is slated to drop June 27. For more info on Fiasco, visit the Web site www.myspace.com/lupefiasco. Williams teams up with DJ Drama Versatile musician Pharrell Williams teamed with DJ Drama to release In My Mind: The Prequel, which is a mix tape preparing fans for Williams' solo debut In My Mind. The excellent mix tape features a collaboration with T.I. and Williams rapping over beats for classic songs like Rakim's Paid In Full. Buzz about Lil Wayne Lately, fans have been talking about Tha Carter, Volume 2.7, the sequel to Lil Wayne's December album Tha Carter, Volume 2, and the unofficial release Tha Carter Vol. 2.5. Sophomore Ryan James, a follower of Wayne's discography, 2.7 isn't completely new but rather a "blend of older unreleased song and new songs." Volume 2.7 features 13 tracks, including several spoken-word skits. Song of the week Atlanta artist Young Joc has created a buzz lately with his song "It's Going Down." Joc is signed to Block Enterprises, a Puffy Combs-affiliated label that helped launch the career of Joc's fellow Atlanta artist Young Jeezy. "It's Going Down" features a simple snap beat, but
fans shouldn't compare Joc to snap artists like D4L, because his lyrical
level is more advanced than most. Joc's lyrical level is more comparable
to Young Jeezy. The song's beat is simple but catchy, and the song's video
features a simple dance move that Joc apparently invented.
