UH's recycling gone
to waste?
The UH Recycling program, which began
in 1993 with money collected from campus sanitary napkin machines, was
so successful that by 1997 the UH solid waste stream had fallen by 48 percent.
Students enroll, but don't graduate
Despite a steady increase in the number
of degrees awarded each year to UH students since 2000, the University's
retention rate remains stagnant.
Students enjoy rooftop music scene
UH students lined the Oberholtzer
Hall rooftop for an evening of head nodding, toe tapping and even dancing
at the second Coffee House and Rooftop Session Friday.
Students seek relief from gas
prices as summer hits
Gas prices in Houston have risen 10.6
cents since April 13, making the average price of gas $2.86 a gallon, AAA
Weekend Gas Watch reported.
